RNLI Queensferry Lifeboat was in the process of returning from the previous service, when crewmember Garfitt spotted a yacht signalling they were in distress.
The lifeboat quickly diverted to the 18ft vessel, located between Hound Point Oil Terminal and the Forth Rail Bridge, and established that it was suffering from engine failure. Crewmember MacKay boarded the yacht and a tow was established.
The casualty vessel was taken back to Blackness harbour and safely put on it's mooring.
Congratulations to crewmember Garfitt who drove the boat on both jobs under the careful tutelage of helm Sutton, as part of his ongoing training to progress to helm status.
Helm: D Sutton
